Nature is a Rescuer during War!

Wild food plants (WFPs) have been an essential source of human nutrition since ancient times. Recent studies conducted by the photo taker demonstrate the crucial role of WFPs for local people during the conflict and its associated economic crisis in Syria. The present photo shows the traditional land management practices in the coastal mountains of Syria. These land terraces serve as a source of WFPs over several months of the year. The captured photo shows mountain chains with the Mediterranean Sea appearing on the horizon. The location is near the "Hosn Suleiman" site, an Aramean Temple that dates back to the first millennia BC.
